Y’all, I do not know how I am going to make it through the next twelve hours.

I am a giant ball of squee and nervousness and excitement and impatience. And while all that is going on, people out there actually expect me to focus on my job and things that are totally unrelated to the Boston Red Sox. Tell me that isn’t the craziest thing you’ve heard since someone said the words, “…and JD Drew with a grand slam to put the Red Sox ahead.”

This year feels very, very different for me from 2004. Read more…

Notice the economy of phrasing: gone. Simple. Direct.

Acceptable Trades I would Approve of Theo Making Right Now for Eric Gagne
(ignoring the fact that he CAN’T make any trades right now)

1. Wily Mo Pena. I think that’s saying something.

I was trying to console myself by remembering that I didn’t think the Sox would win this game anyway, but it’s not working. I do not like to have to use my usual way of dealing with a Rays game (turn the game off before the inevitable loss actually happens so you can ignore it until the morning) when the Red Sox are in the playoffs. And, yes, I know that this is one loss we can’t hang entirely on Gagne’s shoulders, but he’s getting the vast majority of my ire because he hasn’t ever redeemed himself by not sucking in other games. Hell, he almost turned Friday night’s seven run lead into a save situation, WHAT IS THAT?!?!

Memo to the TBS announcers:

I know that David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez are awesome with the way they hit their home runs, but when you keep doing Retrospectives of the Papi and Manny Home Runs, you are forgetting that the first Red Sox player to hit a home run in this series was Kevin Youkilis. If you could maybe mention it maybe every third or fourth time you gush about Ortiz and Ramirez, that would make me happy. K? Thanks.
